Description

Roadhouse USA location:

1984 Vintage Ibanez Destroyer 3-Pickup Black Guitar W/Case.

This is the ‘one’, reminiscent of the Destroyer that Phil Collen played cira Pyromania.

8.9 lbs

It appears to be all original and comes with a brand new, form fit Ibanez hard case.

This Destroyer is in good to very good vintage condition. No issues to speak of, just minor play wear here and there as you can see by the pics.

The frets have plenty of life left in them and the neck is great.

Overall, this is a pretty nice example of an iconic Ibanez guitar that won’t break the bank.

Plus it practically plays Rock of Ages by itself.

Info:

The DT155 is a Destroyer series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1983.

The DT155 features an Explorer-style basswood body with birch top and ivory binding mated to a set-in 1-ply maple neck with a 21-fret ebony fingerboard with pearloid and abalone split block position markers. Components include a trio of Ibanez Super 70 humbucking pickups, Tek Grip knobs and Smooth Tuner II machine heads. The pickups are wired such that the 3-way toggle controls which of the outside pickups are active (neck/ both/ bridge) and volume for these pickups is controlled by a single control. The second volume control allows the center pickup to be blended in with any combination of the other two. A single tone covers all three pickups.

In mid 1983 a 22nd fret was added.

The DT555 is a similar, more expensive model with different components.

Although the DT155 was not officially designated as a signature model it has been closely associated with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. Collen appeared with the guitar in Ibanez catalogs and promotional materials.

The DT155 was discontinued after 1985.
