Description
Roadhouse USA:
1989 Vintage Guild D40 Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar W/Case.
An 80’s Guild acoustic in great condition!
This one is about as clean as I have ever seen for a 35+ year old Guild and I have had a lot of them over the years.
Guild serial # charts show this guitar to be from 1989, however it does have 12-87 stamped below the serial # on the back of the headstock. Whatever the case may be, it is a late 80’s Westerly made Guild.
As you can see by the pics, it is in excellent vintage condition and shows very little wear at all. There is a ‘smudge’ of some kind on the bottom side near the strap button (pictured) but other than that, you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner example.
It plays well and the neck is great. No fret wear to speak of.
Comes with hard case as pictured.
General Specs: A 1989 Guild D-40 typically features a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a walnut center stripe. It has a 25 5/8″ scale length, 1 11/16″ nut width, and a 12″ fingerboard radius. The fingerboard is typically Indian rosewood with pearl dot inlays. The bridge is also Indian rosewood, and the guitar has a bone nut and saddle. It’s equipped with Guild vintage-style open gear tuners, a tortoiseshell pickguard, and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
