2001 PRS Limited Edition 100/250 Single Cut Solid Brazilian Rosewood Neck 10 Top Amber Guitar.

Only 250 of these made back in 2001. This is #100.

If you are reading this, chances are you know what it is. You will probably never see another run of solid Brazilian necks ever. You will pay $10k FOR THE NECK as a Private Stock add on, IF you can even get PRS to do one these days.

I have owned 2 of these and each has been superb in every way. This one is no exception.

It is in MINT condition and comes as pictured. (The hang tag is pictured for reference. At one point I had the tag, obviously and further paperwork, however it was stolen and is no longer included)

The numbered back plate which all 250 of these came with from PRS is still present. Even has an extra set of knobs and tuners. Original case obviously.

Get it while you can, these seldom come up for sale and if you take a look at that neck, you can see why.

2001 PRS Brazilian Singlecut. This is one of a very limited edition by PRS of 250 guitars. Unlike the $10,000 Gibson R9s with only a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, the entire neck of this guitar is made of the highly-desirable and rare tone wood. The Brazilian rosewood neck must be felt to be believed. The story goes that Paul Smith was getting a tour of the Martin Guitar Factory, and saw a bunch of BRW lying around. It was too small for bodies, but Paul knew the lumber was the perfect size for necks. The blanks were 30-50 years old when Paul bought them. Now 16 years after the guitars were built these necks are 46 to 66 years old. This kind of wood is simply unobtainable today due to the CITES restrictions. This gorgeous guitar has a 10 Top and is finished in a lovely Vintage Sunburst, One of the best I’ve seen. The neck is the very comfortable “Wide-Fat” carve, which is PRS’ closest carve to the 59 Les Paul contour. The Solid Brazilian Rosewood neck almost has a piano-like tone, and the guitar sounds great…a nice warm, vintage tone. If you’re looking for a highly collectible PRS in fantastic condition, look no further.
Second year of the pre-lawsuit singlecuts.
