2022 Mondell Custom Guitars Unitone Junior Metal Top Guitar W/Case
Robert Mondell is a world class luthier based in Ocean County, NJ
This is a very cool take on a vintage Les Paul Junior with his patented Unitone system which incorporates a steel bar that runs from neck pocket to tailpiece so everything attaches and thus adds to the sustain and definition.
The pickup is a Curtis Novak silver foil in a dogear mounting ring and the top is engraved and textured with a matching back plate.
This is a really cool guitar with a ton of vibe to it. It is the first time I have had a Mondell in hand and I am extremely impressed with it. The relic job is great and it plays superbly.
If you are looking for an LP Jr vibe, but want something a little bit different, this is a great take on it from an excellent, boutique builder who builds guitars one by one.
As a side note to the backstory of this guitar, it was played by Rich Robinson of The Black Crowesr at soundcheck at The Stone Pony Summerstage in the summer of 2022
