This is a really cool custom, hand-made guitar by a small boutique shop in Phoenix AZ called Vigilante guitars.
I have always been a big fan of this body style having played Peavey Wolfgang for many years live, so I was curious as to the quality of this custom build.
There are some interesting aspects to this little beauty:
-Set neck rather than a bolt on neck that you would traditionally find on a Peavey Wolfgang or an Ernie Ball Axis etc.
-Bound two-piece African Mahogany body
-1/4” highly flamed maple top
-Nitro finish in a simply awesome turquoise
-birdseye maple neck, just like a Peavey Wolfgang
-Medium C shape neck with two carbon fiber rods along and a modern two-way trussrod
-Color matched headstock and the back of the neck is finished in oil and wax for a smooth surface without being sticky
-22 medium stainless frets with hand rolled fret ends
-Gotoh Floyd Rose tremolo is blocked but can be removed for floating trem action
-Dimarzio Air Norton in the bridge and a Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF in the neck
-500k push/pull pot splits both pickups
-Hipshot locking tuners
Let me be clear: this is an excellent guitar. It was entirely built by hand, not some ‘kit’ type of build. Having played and owned literally 100+ Peavey Wolfgangs, EBMM Axis, and original Ernie Ball EVH models, this guitar measures up in every way, the major difference being the set neck rather than bolt on.
It is in stellar condition and plays great.
For the money, this is an incredible deal and you won’t find anything close to this type of quality in this price range.
