Roadhouse:

2006 Gibson Custom Shop ’58 Les Paul Historic Makeover W/Brazilian Board/Lifton Case.

I have had a ton of aged Les Paul’s over the years but this is the first Historic Makeover I have had in stock.

All I can say is: Wow.

2006 Custom Shop R8 Les Paul that was sent to the Historic Makeover masters for their “Standard Package” which includes a neck and top re-carve, refin with 50’s style thin nitro lacquer and a very tasteful relic finish.

The aging is sublime and just perfectly done in EVERY aspect.

HM added a Stinger and a serial number re-stamp in the correct Gibson 50’s font.

The neck re-carve was requested to be a tad smaller than the traditional ’59 neck so it measures 0.86 at the first fret and 0.95 at the 12th with a 1-11/16 traditional nut. It is very comfortable.

It features a beautiful Brazilian rosewood board with proper nitro cellulose inlays. The board was replaced by another luthier before it was sent to HM and it was confirmed to be Brazlian by HM which is why they opted for the Standard Package

These upgrades have been done:

-1960’s Grovers nickel tuners

-Wizz Double Cream Premium PAF Clone pickups with M69 rings

-50’s strap buttons

-CreamTone Pick guard

-HM no-wire bridge and aluminum tailpiece

-Rewired with MojoTone select vintage taper pots, bumble bee caps and switchcraft jack and toggle

-The Brazilian board was fretted with the correct 50’s era .092 fret wire.

Weight 8lb.12oz.

It plays incredibly well with low action and no fretting issues. It feels, looks and plays like and old Les Paul with great tone and sustain.

The official Gibson Custom Shop and Historic Makeover Certificates are included, as is a Gibson Lifton case as pictured.

This is a one SMOKIN Les Paul. As I said, I have had literally hundreds of aged Gibson Custom Shops and this one is truly one of the very best I have ever laid hands on.

It is an absolute steal when you take into account the cost of an R8 Gibson Custom Shop LP, the Historic Makeover Standard Package cost, AND the Brazilian board.

If this guitar doesn’t inspire you to play, then you are completely hopeless and should take up knitting.
