Carvin V220 80s Vintage Guitar Metallic Blue W/Hard Case.

My favorite Carvin guitar ever; the V220!

This one is in a killer Metallic Blue Sparkle type finish.

Judging by the Carvin logo (and the Kahler, AND the typewriter written instructions:), this is an 80’s model, although you wouldnt know it by looking at it or playing it. The gold hard ware is in stupid good condition showing very little if any wear.

Other than some tiny marks on the back, this thing could damn-near be called Mint condition. As it is, its probably one of the best examples you will find of an 80’s V220.

Completely original and unaltered.

Comes as pictured with the Carvin branded deluxe, form-fit hard case and all the paperwork that you see plus the trem bar.

This one is as killer as it looks, if you dig these things as much as I do, don’t let it slide by!

Some specs from Kiesel (these specs are more for the modern model V220, but they serve as a basis)

The V220 has a standard alder body and maple neck-through design. Alder is a high-quality tone wood used by many manufacturers because of its relative light weight and fine resonating tone. It’s slightly darker in color than maple, which accentuates the V220’s neck. Alder also has a subtle and attractive grain that looks great in any of the Custom Shop’s many finishes, including solid colors, translucent finishes and our new metallic solid finishes. Although alder is the standard wood, optional woods such as swamp ash, maple, mahogany, walnut and koa are available, all of which have their own tonal characteristics. You can add premium top woods, such as AAAA flamed maple, AAAA quilted maple, flamed koa, and California Claro walnut.

The standard maple neck clarifies the overall tone of the instrument, but other neck woods, such as mahogany and koa are offered for their own slightly warmer tonal qualities. 5-piece necks of different combinations of maple, walnut and koa add to the already great looks of this instrument, and if an optional top wood is selected, you can choose whether you want the neck to show on the top or not. All of our necks and fingerboards undergo a long conditioning process in our de-humidification chambers to remove any stress in the wood and prevent future warping or twisting. The dual-action, fully adjustable truss rod helps keep the neck straight and true, and allows you to set the action just the way you like it. The standard headstock is the 3 X 3 V style, and you can also choose a pointed angled 6-inline version, reversed pointed angled design, or 3 X 3 pointed version.

The V220 features a standard 25″ scale ebony fingerboard with white pearl dot inlays, a 14″ radius and 24 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets. The Custom Shop offers more fingerboard options than most manufactures offer for their entire guitar lines. You can choose from rosewood, maple, birdseye maple, flamed maple or zebrawood fingerboards; dot, diamond or block inlays in mother-of-pearl or genuine abalone along with black acrylic diamonds or blocks; and fingerboard radii of 10″ or 14″. Kiesel Guitars also offers a number of fretwire options, including jumbo, low-wide and gold EVO. Our “Rapid Play” low action neck assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the smooth neck heel allows easy access all the way up to the 24th fret.

The standard bridge on the V220 is our “M” bridge with tune-o-matic bridge and strings fed through the body for additional sustain. You can also choose a Floyd Rose tremolo with or without locking nut. Premium locking tuners with a 19:1 ratio ensure you’ll stay in tune no matter what your playing style is. Standard hardware is chrome, and you can upgrade to black or gold.

Kiesel Lithium Humbuckers
Standard Kiesel Lithium Classic Humbuckers

The V220 comes equipped with new Kiesel Passive Lithium Series humbuckers. These pickups were made for the demanding modern music where clarity, focus and articulation is needed, and this series offers great versatility and has an excellent balance between power and clarity. Controls consist of a master volume and tone control and 3-way pickup selector. The tone control doubles as a push-pull coil splitter, effectivly doubling the tonal range of the instrument. The input jack on all Ultra Vs and V220s is now located on the inside of the lower bout as a standard feature. For added warmth and a cool look, try the S22 Series metal covered pickups, which are available in chrome, black or gold to match your hardware. You can also choose from the M22 Series or Holdsworth H22 Series pickups. Standard pickups have black coils and bezels, but any combination of black or cream coils and bezels are available.
