Roadhouse USA:

Peavey Wolfgang USA Archtop Guitar in Black W/Binding.

Excellent example of the venerable Peavey Wolfgang USA carved top model.

Very few of these carved tops were finished in black.

One of my favorite electric guitars of all time. I would take one of these over the newer, Fender built Wolfgangs any day of the week.

This one is in excellent condition. There are a couple of small marks on the back that are hardly visible, but since it is a black guitar you will find some polish swirls and that kind of thing if you look hard enough. My apologies for the camera glare in the pics. The ebony finish is very glossy and it was hard to get pics that don’t show some glare.

Overall, extremely clean, well taken care of guitar.

The neck is great and the frets are as well.

Comes as pictured with original case and strap locks and allen wrenches.

Info:

The Peavey EVH Wolfgang is an Eddie Van Halen signature guitar and can be seen as the continuation of the Ernie Ball MusicMan Eddie Van Halen signature guitar. Like his previous signature guitar, Eddie Van Halen designed this guitar himself. This time with the help of Peavey’s Jim DeCola. There are some differences between the Peavey EVH Wolfgang and the Ernie Ball MusicMan Eddie Van Halen guitars. The headstock features a 3+3 configuration and the (Peavey) Floyd Rose tremolo features a D-Tuna device to drop the E string to D instantly. The three-way toggle switch is positioned on the upper horn of the guitar and beside the volume knob, the guitar also has a tone knob. There are actually four versions of this particular guitar. First of all there is the option of a Peavey Floyd Rose tremolo or a tune-o-matic bridge (plus a hard tail piece). And there is the distinction between the all basswood solid color versions (gloss ivory and gloss black) and the versions with a maple cap with translucent colors. The thickness of the arched maple top ranged from 1/4 inch to 5/8 inch as opposed to the MusicMan’s 1/8 inch fiagured maple top. Other features are:

  • Bolt-on construction with contoured neck heel, no neckplate
  • Oil-finished graphite-reinforced birdseye maple neck and fingerboard
  • String retainer bar
  • Two custom-wound Peavey humbucking pickups mounted directly to the body(underwent a two -step wax dipping process)
  • Master volume control (500kOhm, long split shaft, logarithmic)
  • Master tone control (500kOhm, long split shaft, logarithmic)
  • ten-degree tilt headstock with Schaller mini M6 tuners with pearloid or cream colored buttons
  • Switchcraft 3-way toggle switch and output jack
  • Easy access adjustable steel torsion rod
