The Custom Shop’s superior materials and craftsmanship and over 70 years of experience building the highest quality, USA-made instruments that are suitable for all playing styles at any level make the A6 ideal for guitarists that want a 24-fret fingerboard, but prefer the design of a bolt-neck instrument. The A6 is constructed to the highest possible standards of quality and playability by the Kiesel Guitars USA Custom Shop.

The Aries A6 has an alder body and maple bolt neck design, with a newly designed easy-access sculpted neck heel. Alder is a high-quality tone wood used by many manufacturers because of its relative light weight and fine resonating tone. It’s slightly darker in color than maple, which accentuates the A6’s neck. Alder also has a subtle and attractive grain that looks great in any of the Custom Shop’s many finishes, including solid colors, translucent finishes and our metallic solid finishes. The body has a sculpted top and lower horn, similar to the Vader Series headless guitars, which accentuates the aggressive looks of the instrument while increasing access high on the fingerboard. A deep body cut and beveled arm rest make the A6 incredibly comfortable to play. Although alder is the standard wood, optional woods such as swamp ash, maple, mahogany, walnut, koa and black or white limba are available, all of which have their own tonal characteristics. You can add premium exotic top woods, such as AAAA flamed maple, AAAA quilted maple, flamed koa, burled maple, flamed spalted maple, zebrawood, and California Claro walnut.
The standard maple neck clarifies the overall tone of the instrument, but other neck woods, such as mahogany, walnut, limba and koa are offered for their own slightly warmer tonal qualities. 5-piece necks of different combinations of maple, mahogany, walnut, limba, purpleheart and koa add to the already great looks of this instrument. All of our necks and fingerboards undergo a long conditioning process in our de-humidification chambers to remove any stress in the wood and prevent future warping or twisting. The dual-action, fully adjustable truss rod helps keep the neck straight and true, and allows you to set the action just the way you like it. Dual carbon-fiber rods further strengthen the neck. Unlike other Kiesel Guitars bolt neck instruments, the A6 has 4 ferrules with bolts, versus the conventional neckplate. This creates a solid joint, reduces the size of the heel, and shaves a small amount of weight off the instrument. The standard headstock is our new pointed inline design, or you can also choose a reversed pointed inline, or 3 X 3 pointed style. The A6’s headstock is unfinished, and you can add a headstock overlay from our large selection of woods to match your optional top wood or have it painted to match a standard solid or optional translucent finish. The Aries Series has the Kiesel headstock logo standard, and if you want to really dress up your A6, add our metallic gold headstock logo, silver logo or abalone logo for just the right touch of class. You can personalize your A6 with an engraved truss rod cover, adding to the uniqueness of the instrument.
The A6 has a standard 24-fret, 25.5″ scale ebony fingerboard with white pearl dot inlays, a 14″ radius and 24 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets. The Custom Shop offers a complete selection of fingerboard options: you can choose from rosewood, royal ebony, maple, birdseye maple, flamed maple or zebrawood fingerboard woods; dot, diamond or block inlays in white pearl or genuine abalone; colored acrylic dots, blocks or diamond inlays; offset dot inlays; glow-in-the-dark Luminlay inlays and fingerboard radii of 10″ or 12″. The Custom Shop also offers a number of fretwire options, including jumbo, low-wide, stainless steel and gold EVO in a variety of sizes. The “Rapid Play” low action neck assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the easy access sculpted neck heel allows easy access all the way up to the 24th fret.
You can choose from 4 different bridges. A Hipshot™ hardtail bridge with strings fed through the body is standard; or you can choose a Floyd Rose tremolo with or without locking nut; or our Kiesel/Hipshot tremolo; or our new Evertune bridge. Premium Kiesel locking tuners with a 19:1 ratio ensure you’ll stay in tune no matter what your playing style is. Standard hardware is chrome, and you can upgrade to black or gold.
The A6 comes equipped with a direct-mount passive Kiesel Lithium K12B humbucker in the bridge position, and a direct-mount passive Kiesel Lithium K12N pickup in the neck position, which are custom wound with vintage plain enamel wire that brings out the harmonically rich tone and sustain of the guitar. Electronics consist of a master volume and master tone controls, and a 5-way blade-style pickup selector. Standard pickups have black coils, but combinations of black, white or cream coils are available.
Kiesel Guitars also offers a 7-string version of the A6, the Aries A7. It has the same basic features and construction of the A6, in a 7-string configuration with the new inline 7-string headstock standard. For neck-through enthusiasts, the SCB6 has a similar beveled body, with a 25″ scale, 24 fret fingerboard.
