Description
Roadhouse USA:
1986 Ibanez Roadstar II RG440 in Pearl White.
Straight outta the 80’s, an Ibanez Roadstar II RG440.
As you probably know since you are reading this, these were great playing, very high quality Japanese made guitars.
This one shows a few marks here and there, what you would expect out of a 40 year old guitar that has been played, but certainly not abused.
Appears to be all original.
Neck is excellent and the frets have plenty of life left in them. It is set up well, you can shred on this baby!
Comes with hard case as pictured.
Ibanez info:
The RG440 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1986. The Roadstar series would eventually become known as the RG series.
The RG440 is one of only a few RG models produced with a 22-fret neck. It is also remarkable as an RG model with a humbucker/ single/ single pickup configuration. It has the rounded-edge body style of the older Roadstar II body.
The RG440 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Components include pickguard-mounted Ibanez pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and single coils in the neck and middle positions and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut.
The 1986 RG440 has the original swoopy “blade” Roadstar II headstock shape and the headstock is painted to match the body. For 1987 it gets the a black headstock in the pointier modern “duckbill” RG shape along with black hardware and a different pickguard shape.
The RG440L is a left-handed version. The RG450 is a similar model with a humbucker replacing the single-coil at the neck. The RG430 is a similar model with three single-coil pickups.
The RG440 was discontinued after 1987.
